Toasted, Spiked Hot Chocolate

There is no denying it, a snow day and a warm cup of cocoa basically go hand in hand. Or mitten in mitten, I suppose. But you know what's so great about being an adult? You can take that standard cup of hot chocolate and turn it into a toddy of sorts, instantly bringing out the inner kid in all of your guests.

Ingredients
2 cups milk 4 ounces quality dark chocolate
1 cinnamon stick, crushed 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon brown sugar Pinch of kosher salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 tablespoons dark rum or bourbon
Instructions
1.
Bring milk and cinnamon to a simmer in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat.

Whisk in chocolate, sugar, and salt and cook, until chocolate is melted, Pour through a fine-mesh sieve into a large measuring cup; discard cinnamon.
3.
Add bourbon or dark rum to hot chocolate mixture and stir.
4.
Divide among mugs.
5.
Top with toasted marshmallows, and then place briefly under the broiler until marshmallows are golden brown.

Serve and enjoy!
